Key programmes and initiatives

Beneficiaries:

Children with special needs

OCBC believe in fostering an inclusive society where every child has the opportunity to thrive. Our programmes focuses on supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) through tailored educational initiatives and resources. This program aims to provide personalized learning experiences that cater to the unique abilities and challenges faced by these children. We collaborate with SAHK to develop innovative teaching methods and tools that enhance learning outcomes, ensuring that every child can engage meaningfully in their education.

Deprived Students

Education is a gateway to opportunity for deprived students reflect this belief. OCBC collaborates with the Hong Kong Family Welfare Society to promote financial education through experiential activities educating children from kindergarten to primary schools on financial management. With the current issue of “money disconnect” among young children, experiential learning helps educate them to foster positive financial attitudes, behaviors and values from an early age, which can have lasting benefits for both individuals and society.

Through the initiatives of Project WeCan, we offer support to our partner school, Po Leung Kuk Yao Ling Sun College, in offering a diverse array of learning opportunities, including a tailored financial education program. We also promote their participation in our CSR activities to broaden their exposure and contribute to their holistic development.

Vulnerable Seniors

OCBC dedicated to supporting vulnerable seniors through impactful CSR initiatives. Recognizing their challenges, we’ve launched programmes providing essential care, companionship, and resources.

Beginning in 2023, we collaborated with Mind Delight Memory & Cognitive Training Centre, part of the Christian Family Service Centre, to showcase the abilities of seniors with dementia through the “One-day Shop Managers” programme. In this initiative, seniors will prepare products for sale and take on the role of shop managers in a pop-up store with the assistance of #OCBCCares volunteers. This effort allows community members to appreciate the various strengths of these individuals, ultimately creating a supportive environment where seniors with dementia and their families feel valued within the community.
